About Us

Kirkliston Bowling Club was founded in 1882 and was one of six original founder clubs of the Linlithgowshire Bowling Association ( renamed West Lothian Bowling Association in 1999 ) We have provided the Association President on nine occasions and Gordon Logan was President of the British Isles bowls Council in 2011.

The club have been represented at Queens Park and Ayr Northfield on many occasions with our successes coming in the singles twice ( John Aitken 1988 and Raymond Logan 1998 ) and the Fours Kenny Logan, Gordon Scott, Eric Logan, Raymond Logan in 1991. Doreen Reeder won the Senior Ladies Singles in 2014.

Internationally, Rennie Logan was part of the Scotland team that won World Bowls Team Gold in 1972 and Kenny Logan won Triples and Team Gold at the 1996 World Bowls. John Aitken and Kenny Logan played in the Kuala Lumpar Commonwealth Games in 1998 and Neil Speirs played in the Delhi Commonwealth Games in 2010. Neil Speirs won Fours Gold at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014. Grant Logan won Gold in the Fours and Bronze in the Pairs at the Atlantic Championships in Cyprus in 2011. Rennie Logan, Eric Logan, Raymond Logan, John Aitken, Kenny Logan, Grant Logan, Neil Speirs, Steven Forrest and Calum Logan ( U25s ) have all represented Scotland in the Home international Series and Gordon Logan is a former Team Manager.

The club have won numerous County honours including the Rosebery Cup ( The Blue Riband event in the West Lothian calendar ) 24 times. We’ve won the Top Five a record 14 times and the Inter County Top Five 4 times. The Top Ten has been won a record 11 times and the Inter County Top Ten a record 4 times and twice beaten finalists.
